Sandia Gun Club’s 2023 High Power Rifle season wrapped up today with eight shooters. The winner shot 766-16, a fine score. Needless to say, yours truly can’t match that. The weather for today’s match was perfect, a cloudless New Mexico blue sky, no wind and 70 degrees.
At the shooter’s meeting the match director reminded us that anyone can call a ceasefire, at any time. This was especially appropriate today on the initial weekend of the Albuquerque Balloon festival just to our east. Balloons can land anywhere, even on our range!
We shoot throughout the year on the second Sunday of each month, but this concludes the 2023 season. November’s match will be shot for fun. And this is a reminder that the January match will be for vintage rifles. Come join us at the Albuquerque Shooting Range Park.
